Do I really need to write anything here? Okay, off you go, we’ll talk after you’ve watched this…
In just a little over a month the final season of Game Of Thrones will begin, and with it one of the biggest zeitgeist shows of the past decade comes to an end.
The trailer teases and sizzles quietly, but holds promise for resolutions on a lot of dangling plot threads and, knowing the bloodthirsty nature of the show, probably the ends for a lot of favourite characters.
Of course, nothing this successful ever truly ends, and before we know it HBO will be launching prequel series, The Long Night, with star Naomi Watts, despite the caution just displayed by HBO Chairman, Robert Watts.
“The last thing you want to do is roll out a spinoff or two and they’re not up to the standard of the original show and then you’ve just sort of failed miserably,” Watts said in an interview with The Wrap.
But with Game of Thrones launching for the last time on April 15th, you can be pretty sure they’ll find a way to make those standards work and keep bringing in those all-important ratings.
Winter is, finally, almost here.
